yea

its a nice song witha great melody, but i though it wasnt diverse enough, and that wana-wana thing in the backround was pretty annoying. nice word though, i give it a solid 3.

Chloroform responds:

First off, thanks for taking the time to review this. I see what you mean about the diversity, although I was going for a tad of repetitiveness with changes in the background on this. I kind of like the wana-wana thing you're talking about though, and it's really only noticeable in the beggining due to it's quietness compared to the rest.

I most certainly will check out your stuff though. ;)

yea

Yea, I agree with the guy before me. You just need to put more in there. The song consists of just 2 parts, played either seperatley or together, and not diverse at all, and the kick-into is wayy to longggg. other than that, it's a very cool song, and i'll give it a sturdy 4.

check out my music too, leave a comment =]

vonDark responds:

Yeah, this was more a reason test than anything else.
There is actually more than two parts if you consider the break in the middle, the bassline is different there.
i was also working on giving it some more energy, but my computer was to slow to let me add more instruments, and I was lazy to make up a new part.

At least, I learned how to use combinator.

I'll try harder next time.

nice work

i like the melody (which is pretty much the whole song). the synth-to-guitar transitions doesnt work well and the backround sound at the beggining is way too quiet. but it's still a great song, keep up the good work.

check out my music too!

kliker responds:

thx that you appreciate my work. I'm still learning so my work is not that good as paragonx9. Maybe sometime.... and thx for the review.

Wow

Incredible, as usual.

My point of view on the story is a bit diffrent, maybe like Zen's but the soldier wants to make it back to his loved one? i dont know. It's amazing, the drum/bass hidden behind it add a powerful-like effect to it, if the strings don't do that one their own. My music is terrible, but im working on getting better now. I'm sure your first classical was much better than my first techno. Thanks for all the reviews, your tips are well appreciated. i dont know if i will go deep into classical, but mawkeetus is working on his second. hopefully i may someday become half as well known as you ;).

MaestroRage responds:

You'd be surprised how horrible my first anything was ;). Also my first piece was techno! That was before I learned VST's. Fruity Studio's is geared towards electronic music and their orchestral samples are quite horrible, so it was a pain trying to work with that. I wish the best of luck to both you and mawkeetus, if you guys have any questions or just want an ear to listen to a piece, i'm always here.

Thanks for the review and story, both were appreciated.

nice

like the guy before me, it really paints the picture of the cave. You use fruity loops right? the demo version? LOL me too, it's pretty annoying, having to leave your comp on all night when you're working on a song. Anyway, the melodies arent too original but they flow together in perfect harmony, nice work!

check out my stuff,
-ChiRoN

XDragonslayerX responds:

Lol yep..it's quite annoying. Anyway thanks! I'll try to make more originallity when I get the full thing.

yea

Welcome to NewGrounds. What do you use, Fruity Loops? I like the backround beat, and the guitar goes nicely with the synth. You should try to make it less repetitive, like, it's really diverse but each diffrent melody is just the same thing over and over again. Thats all i have to say. Check out my music too,

-ChiRoN

ps- you submitted the same thing twice xD

SirShorty responds:

Yeah, just ralized that my self X0 .
And yeah, I use a program where you have a bunch of loops and you string them together. Will work on the diversity next time. Thanks!

not bad

Not bad at all. The intro should sound more seperated and sticcato, it sounds like 1 note. The melody is great though. You should put more into the song though, maybe some chords or kick.

eGrind responds:

Thank you, I know the intro sounds lame, but that's the way I got it working. Thank you for the tips, I'll keep them in mind.

Thank you for the review.

Great song

Its a great melody, but i think you should have made the guitar a bit diffrent sounding, it sticks out. And that one high-pitched triangle was kind of off key, but it goes well with the song! I like it.

Thx for the review btw

-ChiRoN

Stealth-Emergence responds:

Hey man thanks for your review, yeah that guitar does need to sound different, it's a sound issue I'm having! lol and it was my first track which I will re-do one day! (I Swear)

Triangle? no triangles were used in this, but I think I can pick the little beastie you're referring to

Thanks for your review man! glad you liked it!

Peace Out!

nice guitar work!!

well first just to let you know the person who reviewed your song "ambitious spirit" was someone completely different. we share the same account, and for some reason he spoke for me!

but, this song...! its great. i liked wow your patterns smoothed over together so well. the guitar work in this is phenominal...i assume that was the pluggin. the oboe really added the feeling to it. the only problem i had with this was the bass near the end. it was a wee bit fuzzy i thought. it would have been better to have a sharp bass that mellows out. but it's your song and i dont know if you were going for that sound.

over all great song!

ps: im in the process of a new classical song. I'll take your advice into mind.

MaestroRage responds:

Thank you ChiRoN. The reason the bass probably sounds the way it is, is because it's the same guitar from the beginning brought down 3 octaves XD. Yes go synths! I've recently gotten a whole guitar VST so for future uses for guitar/bass, it will definately sound better. Thank you for review, i'm glad you liked the piece!

thanks

Wow, a review from the classical master! =O

i'm honored. thanks. I love your music, too bad orchestral-techno isnt big here. That was my first piece, probably more to come. btw- me and ChiRoN are 2 diffrent people =P

MaestroRage responds:

I was actually going to go into orchestral techno, but I decided to stick purely to orchestral first, to get a good concept of melodies before I dive into techno.

I'll keep the fact you're two different people in mind next time ;). Thanks for the review!
